THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PRACTICE

Meet the Blue Root Team

Different Backgrounds. One Shared Commitment.

Blue Root is built by people with different backgrounds, disciplines, and ways of supporting health — but one shared philosophy of care.

Across clinical medicine, acupuncture, bodywork, Reiki, yoga, movement, transformational experiences, music, and patient care, each person brings something distinct to the Blue Root ecosystem.

What connects us is how we care for the person in front of us.

CLINICAL + THERAPEUTIC CARE

Dr. Angela Soto, founder of Blue Root Health

01 — DR. ANGELA SOTO

FOUNDER OF BLUE ROOT HEALTH

Dr. Angela Soto, O.MD., L.Ac.

Doctor of Oriental Medicine · Licensed Acupuncturist · Somatic Breathwork Facilitator · Sacred Geometry Master Healer

Angela is the founder of Blue Root Health and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine with more than 17 years of clinical practice.

Her work is rooted in Chinese Medicine and shaped by years of advanced study across acupuncture, Integrative and Functional Medicine, regenerative therapies, nervous-system healing, somatic breathwork, and transformational work.

What connects these disciplines is Angela's belief that symptoms rarely exist in isolation. Rather than treating one complaint at a time, she looks for the patterns and relationships within the whole person — physical, physiological, emotional, and energetic — to understand what may be driving the way someone feels.

That philosophy became the foundation of Blue Root: personalized care that looks deeper, connects what may appear unrelated, and meets each person where they are.

Madeline Maddie DeMartini, Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist at Blue Root Health

02 — MADDIE DEMARTINI

LICENSED MASSAGE & BODYWORK THERAPIST

Madeline “Maddie” DeMartini

Therapeutic Massage · Neuromuscular Therapy · Lymphatic Massage · Thai Massage · Usui Reiki

Maddie brings together therapeutic massage, specialized bodywork, nervous-system support, and Usui Reiki within a deeply personalized approach to care.

Rather than beginning every session with a predetermined technique, she pays attention to what the person — and the body in front of her — is communicating that day. Her work may move between focused therapeutic treatment, neuromuscular work, lymphatic support, Thai massage, restorative touch, and Reiki depending on what is needed.

Her intention is not simply to provide a massage, but to create a session that helps each person feel supported, restored, and more at ease in their body.

Haley Pillars, Acupuncturist and Usui Reiki Practitioner at Blue Root Health

03 — HALEY PILLARS

ACUPUNCTURIST & USUI REIKI PRACTITIONER

Haley Pillars

Classical Chinese Medicine · Acupuncture · Usui Reiki · Ayurvedic Life Coaching · MS in Biology

Haley brings a uniquely multidisciplinary perspective to Blue Root, combining a strong scientific foundation with Classical Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, Ayurveda, and more than a decade of Usui Reiki practice.

Her approach reflects the breadth of that training — looking at the body through both physiological and traditional medicine perspectives while also recognizing the role of stress, energy, lifestyle, and the individual experience of health.

Whether working through acupuncture or Reiki, Haley's intention is to understand the person as a whole and create care that is thoughtful, individualized, and responsive to what they need.

Abigail “Abi” Uribe

Physiotherapy-Informed Movement · Yoga · Mobility · Breath · Nervous-System Support

Abi is a trained Physiotherapist and Registered Yoga Teacher whose approach brings together a deep understanding of anatomy and biomechanics with intentional movement, breath, nervous-system awareness, and mind-body connection.

After completing a five-year physiotherapy degree and practicing professionally in Mexico for several years, Abi now brings that clinical understanding of the body into the way she teaches yoga and movement — helping people understand what they are feeling, move with greater awareness, and build a more connected relationship with their bodies.

WHAT UNITES THE TEAM

Different Disciplines. One Philosophy of Care.

Blue Root was never created around a single modality.

What connects our team is a shared commitment to listen carefully, look beyond the obvious, respect the individuality of every person, and offer the kind of support that makes sense for where they are now.

Different expertise. Different ways of helping. One intention: to care for the whole person.
