Micro-Needling
Micro-needling is a very simple, safe, effective and minimally invasive therapeutic technique to create healthier skin. Also called collagen induction therapy (CIT), micro-needling stimulates the body’s natural healing process to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. This results in smoother, tighter, more youthful-looking skin.
Benefits:
- Improved skin tone
- Diminished fine lines and deep wrinkles
- Reducing pore size
- Tightening sagging skin
- Radiant glow (once skin has healed - usually within a day or two)
- Lightening hyperpigmentation
- Repairing sun damaged skin
- Enhanced texture
- Increased tautness
- Repairing sun damaged skin
- Breaking down surgical and acne scars
- Fading stretch marks
- Increasing product absorption by 80% (normal skin absorption is 7%)
- Increasing collagen and elastin production
How The Process Works:
At your session, we will apply numbing ointment first and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Then, Body acupuncture is administered during this time to balance your constitution and improve relaxation. Once the face is numb, you will remove the numbing ointment and the microneedling itself begins, and lasts for 30 minutes. After the treatment, you need to avoid being in the sun for at least 24 hours. Also avoid wearing makeup for the first day (by the second day you can). Temporary redness is expected.
It's an exciting treatment for visibly noticeable results of skin rejuvenation with little recovery or risks! Hello new skin!!
A microneedling course of treatment for the face is suggested every 4-8 weeks for a series of 4-8 visits. Having nano needling or facial acupuncture between visits will enhance the effects of the treatment. Microneedling increases serum and product absorption by 3000%.
Contra-indicated conditions for micro-needling
- Active infections – viral, fungal, bacterial
- Rashes, warts, skin cancer
- Active acne
- Immune-suppressed patients
- Skin-related autoimmune disorders
- Pregnant or breast-feeding
- Cancer
- Patients on anticoagulants (NSAIDS, ASA, Coumadin/Warfarin)
- Recent ablative dermal procedures
- Rosacea
- Diabetes
- Actinic (solar) keratosis
- Use of Accutane within the last 6 months
Nano-Needling
Nano-Needling uses the same device as micro-needling but with silicone tips instead of microneedles. It does not penetrate the skin and does not require any recovery time and therefore can be done much more often. It is recommended 1-2x a week for a series of 8-10 visits for under eye bags, fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging. It is a great treatment on its own or between microneedling and/or facial acupuncture treatments for maintenance. This treatment is also recommended for those with thinner skin or might feel sensitive to micro needling. Nano-needling increases serum and product absorption by 97%.
Micro-needling and nano needling utilize the same equipment, therefore pricing is the same. Microneedling requires 12-24 hrs of healing time post treatment. There is no healing period after nano-needling.
Micro and nano-needling can also be done on the neck, decolletage, hands and other parts of the body.
