Hair Mineral Analysis

Hair Mineral Analysis is a screening test for the level of 21 minerals and toxic metals in a sample of hair. It is a tissue mineral biopsy that is non-invasive and extremely accurate.

Hair, like all other body tissues, contains minerals that are deposited as the hair grows. Although the hair is dead, the minerals remain as the hair continues to grow out. A sample of hair cut close to the scalp provides information about the mineral activity in the hair that took place over the past three to four months, depending on the rate of hair growth.

Minerals Tested:

  • Aluminum
  • Arsenic
  • Boron
  • Cadmium
  • Calcium
  • Chromium
  • Cobalt
  • Copper
  • Iron
  • Lead
  • Lithium
  • Magnesium
  • Manganese
  • Mercury
  • Molybdenum
  • Nickel
  • Phosphorus
  • Potassium
  • Selenium
  • Sodium
  • Zinc

*Hair sample will be collected at the office for submission to the lab. We must wait at least 6 weeks after coloring. Do not wash hair for at least 4 hours before your appointment. Do not use any oils on the hair and do not sweat excessively between the time you wash your hair and your appointment. Results are expected within 1-2 weeks.

Toxic Non-Metal Chemical Profile

Toxic Non-Metal Chemical Profile screens for the presence of 173 different toxic chemicals.

Every day, we are exposed to hundreds of toxic chemicals through products like pharmaceuticals, pesticides, packaged foods, household products, and environmental pollution. Increased exposure to these toxins has led to increased rate of chronic illnesses like cancer, heart disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, chemical sensitivity, autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, autoimmune disorders, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and many more.

This profile also includes Tiglylglycine (TG), a marker for mitochondrial disorders resulting from mutations of mitochondrial DNA. These mutations can be caused by chronic exposure to toxic chemicals, infections, inflammation, and nutritional deficiencies.

Results are expected within 1-2 weeks.

IgG Food Map with Candida + Yeast

IgG Food Map with Candida + Yeast tests for 190 foods which may cause elevated levels of IgG (Immunoglobulin G) antibodies, which are associated with a wide variety of illnesses. Symptoms vary in degree and severity due to the individual's genetic makeup. The complete elimination of IgG positive foods may result in important improvements in symptoms of IBS, autism, ADHD, cystic fibrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune conditions, and many more.

*We collect a blood sample via finger poke. Please hydrate a few hours before your visit.

Results are expected within 1-2 weeks.

Microbiome Analysis

Microbiome Analysis provides guidance towards a healthier lifestyle regarding gut health. This test is used to identify and assess the overall diversity between all bacteria in one’s gastrointestinal tract - the beneficial (good), pathogenic (bad), neutral, and fungal strains. It helps the understanding of how gut health is impacted from diet, lifestyle, and medications/supplements, which in turn affects the whole body. Understanding your gut microbiome assists the practitioner in formulating your specific treatment protocol. In some cases, those with conditions that go undetected or cannot be figured out by normal lab tests, may find answers with the Microbiome Analysis.

*This test is completed with a stool sample. We will provide you with the collection kit on the day of your visit. Follow the instructions in the kit to register your test online, collect your specimen, and ship your kit back to the laboratory.

Results are expected within 4-6 weeks.

Fertility and Hormone Testing

Blue Root Acupuncture is happy to offer DUTCH testing. Unlike saliva and serum blood tests that only provide a snapshot of what your hormone levels are, Dried Urine Testing for Comprehensive Hormones reveals both hormone levels and their metabolites. Additionally, it breaks down each hormone and their specific pathways to paint a picture of what’s going on and what’s going wrong. Based on each assessment, we can better help patients develop a plan of action to reach their health and wellness, or fertility goals.

In addition to hormone function, the DUTCH Complete panel reveals how your adrenals and nervous system are functioning by revealing cortisol and cortisone levels throughout the day. It also reveals nutritional organic acids (B12, B6, and glutathione markers) as well as neurotransmitter metabolites for dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine, melatonin, and oxidative stress. This OATS (organic acids) add-on can also be ordered alone without the extra hormones (estrogen, progesterone, etc.)— is especially useful for someone dealing with chronic anxiety or insomnia.

Our DUTCH Cycle Mapping maps the progesterone and estrogen pattern throughout the menstrual cycle, offering a more in-depth picture of what’s going on. It provides the full picture of a woman’s cycle to answer important questions for patients with month-long symptoms, infertility, or PCOS. It’s also highly recommended for any woman with an irregular, unpredictable period. This test is not for women who are postmenopausal, on birth control, or who have regular, predictable cycles.

Neural Zoomer PLUS

The Neural Zoomer Plus tests for antibodies associated with neurological autoimmunity and cognitive decline, while revealing your body’s antibody-to-antigen ratio.  It assists healthcare professionals in determining disease progression in neurological conditions, which helps improve outcomes and configure solutions.

It even includes a feature that screens for how likely you may be at risk for developing neurological conditions, such as Alzheimer’s, by testing for which type of the “ApoE geneotype” you have.  This gene provides instructions for making “apolipoproteins”, which are proteins that pair with fats and cholesterol, then carry them throughout the bloodstream.  There are 2 forms of the ApoE gene – one with a lower risk for developing cognitive conditions, and one with a higher risk.

This test:

  • Screens for neurological diseases by assessing one’s responses to neurological antigens
  • Aids in early risk detection and focuses on prevention

CONDITIONS SUITABLE FOR TESTING

  • A variety of autoimmune diseases:
    • Multiple Sclerosis (and any other demyelinating diseases)
    • Huntington’s Disease
    • Systemic Lupus

Array 2 - Intestinal Permeability Test (also known as the "Leaky Gut" test)

Is Leaky Gut affecting your health?

In many of our patients, food sensitivities can cause inflammation in the gut, which will eventually lead to intestinal permeability, or "Leaky Gut". Leaky gut allows pathogens, bacteria, and other toxins to enter the bloodstream where they can spread throughout the body and trigger the immune system- causing allergies, illness, and inflammation in other parts of the body. We want to identify where and how this is happening so we can control and eliminate it. By using the "Leaky Gut" Test, we can use the results to measure intestinal permeability and identify the damaging rout through the intestinal barrier. With this important information we will know what to specifically target for faster and more efficient gut repair. The test will search for 7 different antigens (toxins that cause an immune response) and is recommended for patients who complain of food sensitivity and intolerance, present multiple symptom complaints (including chronic fatigue) of suffer from abnormal immune cell count and function (including autoimmune disease).

Lab results arrive 14 days after they are submitted.

Array - 12 Pathogen Associated Immune Reactivity Screen

The Array 12 measures your immune response against 29 different pathogens that can trigger a variety of autoimmune diseases. It will determine the role pathogens play in "unexplained" autoimmune diseases. This test will be helpful for patients who suffer from:

  • Unexplained or chronic illnesses
  • Fatigue
  • Chronic body aches
  • Have unexplained gastrointestinal issues
  • Have been exposed to parasites (including ticks)
  • Mold
  • Viruses
  • Fungi
  • Chronic inflammatory disorders such as: Celiac Disease, asthma, allergies, gout, IBS, Rheumatoid arthritis, Grave's disease, Lupus, and more
  • All autoimmune disease
  • Bowel Disorders
  • Cancers and many others

This cutting-edge test can help us get answers we need to create a plan to restore your health and eliminate any pathogens that are causing unwanted health issues. This test offers our physician unparalleled insight into the health of patients who have fallen ill due to a pathogen encounter.

Lab results arrive 14 days after the are submitted.

* It is recommended that the Array 2 and Array 12 be completed together.

By understanding and healing the gut, we can control the pathogens from entering the bloodstream while simultaneously knowing which pathogens need to be eliminated.
